Visit Munnar: A Journey from Mangalore

Munnar Misadventures: Lost and Found!

Me and my buddies, all set for a road trip from Mangalore to Munnar via Car. Even though the car trip was enjoyable, I couldn’t help but crave the thrill of riding my bike on those winding roads leading to Munnar. Munnar was amazing! The rolling hills with all the tea plants were beautiful. It made us want to relax and enjoy a big pot of chai. Finding a place to stay was tough, like trying to park after eating too much rice! It seemed everyone else had the same idea. But luckily, after some talking (and wandering), we found a cheap room for two nights.

Day 1: Vattavada – Off-Roading and Unexpected Guides

On the first day, we were all hyped to explore Vattavada. Now, for those who haven’t been, Vattavada’s all about stunning landscapes and friendly locals – the kind who wave hello and offer directions (even if they’re not entirely sure where you’re going). Just a heads up, it’s also big on off-roading, the kind that requires special permission from the forest authorities. So there we were, all set for our adventure when this random dude popped up and offered us a jeep ride. Now, we weren’t sure if he was just really good at spotting tourists with zero off-road experience. After the Lunch break, and after some deliberation (and maybe a quick check of our wallets), we decided to stick with our trusty Off-Roading four wheels.

Day 2: Not-So-Outdoorsy Adventures

The weather wasn’t great on our second day, so we decided to explore the delicious side of Munnar! We tried all sorts of yummy fast food – biryani, Masala Dosa, and maybe even a Vada that wasn’t quite perfect. It was like being explorers discovering new lands.

Day 3: Last Day But Found (in Eravikulam National Park!)

We were all pumped to climb the big mountain, Annimudi Peak, on our last day. Maps in hand, we set off like explorers! Well, things got a bit…adventurous. We ended up a little lost, wandering on some unknown mountain roads (not what we planned!). But guess what? We stumbled upon this amazing place called Ervikulam National Park instead! It had stunning views and tons of cool animals – a total hidden gem! Our Munnar trip wasn’t exactly what we thought it would be, but that’s okay! We got lost a little, enjoyed some delicious food, and found a surprise adventure. Sometimes the best trips are the ones that take you off course!
